CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam Results Declared; Pass Percentage Increased to 96.78%
The CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam Results have been declared. According to CBSE, the overall pass percentage has increased to 96.78% after combining the results of both board examinations.
Earlier, the pass percentage in the first board examination was 93.6%. Officials clarified that the revised 96.78% pass percentage reflects the combined result of both exams.
Over 59% Students Improved Their Scores
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said that more than 6.63 lakh students appeared in the second board examination. Out of them, over 5.13 lakh students took the exam to improve their marks.
According to the board, more than 59% of these students successfully improved their performance compared to their marks in the main examination. This highlights the positive impact of giving students a second opportunity to enhance their results.

More Than 52% Compartment Students Passed
CBSE also said that over 1.4 lakh compartment candidates appeared in the second board examination. Among them, more than 52% successfully passed the exam.
Two Board Exams Introduced From 2026
In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, CBSE introduced two board examinations for Class 10 from 2026. The main examination was held from February 17 to March 11, while the second board examination was conducted from May 15 to May 21.
The second examination gave eligible students an opportunity to improve their scores. For the final result, CBSE considered the better marks obtained in either of the two examinations.
